Three of our outstanding students have put the Academy values into action as they have recently been recognised and awarded at local sports award evenings.

Beth Kenney won ‘Volunteer of the Year Award’ at the Hinckley & Bosworth Local Sporting Alliance Sports Awards Evening. Beth has been heavily involved in supporting PE and school sport events, working with the PE department and School Games team, in order to get students more physically active. Beth has also volunteered as a leader on the National Citizenship Service programme and has been raising funds for and awareness of the homeless community.

Kelsey Andrews (pictured right) came runner up as ‘Young Volunteer of the Year Award’ at the Blaby Local Sporting Alliance Sports Awards Evening for her volunteering at Winstanley Wizards Table Tennis Club. This contributes her work with Table Tennis England to get more females playing table tennis and her volunteer role on the Blaby Youth Council.

Tamsin Betts (pictured left) at 13 years old is an up and coming Badminton player who already is a permanent member of the Leicestershire County Squad and competes in many tournaments with growing success. At the Blaby Local Sporting Alliance Sports Awards Evening, she achieved a Commendation Recognition.
