KS4 (Yrs 10 – 11 GCSE)
Key Stage 4 is an opportunity for students to begin to specialise in the subject areas they find the most interesting. Our Key Stage 4 curriculum currently starts in Year 9 and gives students the opportunity to study the following subject areas.
Core ‘Enabling’ Subjects
At Bosworth Academy, all students must study English Language and Literature, Maths and Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics). These subjects teach you knowledge and skills that transfer across into all other subjects. We call them ‘Enabling Subjects’.
Globalising and Self-Worth Subjects
Bosworth Academy prepares students for life beyond school. The world is a lot smaller now, and students need to see how they fit into a complex and fast changing world. Students will study the following subjects:
- A modern foreign language (French or Spanish)
- Geography or History (they can take both)
- Religion, Philosophy and Ethics
- Personal, Social, Health and Economic education (PSHE)
- Physical Health
Options
Students can then choose from a wide range of subjects. One of the subjects must be a creative or practical subject to ensure they study a broad and balanced curriculum.
You can learn more about the options available here:
