Heartfelt Message for our Students

This week we have put together a heart warming message video for our students, to remember, whether we are students working face to face or remotely learning, or teachers setting work from home or supervising key worker’s children; ‘Together we Achieve’. Thank you to our brilliant Kat Henshaw for pulling this message together for us all.

Please remember you can contact any member of staff for help with home learning or to discuss your general wellbeing.

Just remember; Be resilient. Be determined. Be kind. Be there for one another. Be there for your family. And remember – you still belong to our Bosworth community. This time shall pass.

Stay safe and stay in touch.

Parent Support Document: Remote Learning

Dear parent/carer

This document has been compiled by subject leaders and teachers to help you support your child with their remote learning. It contains a list of topics appropriate to their year group, and directions to some useful resources that you may find helpful.

Many thanks

Bosworth Academy: Times Like These

This week one of our staff, Steve Hall (Lead Practitioner and PE teacher), has coordinated a fantastic, heart-warming message for all students to show how much we miss you all. Steve sings and plays his very own acoustic version of the ‘Live Lounge All Stars’ recent hit and truly gives the great Dave Grohl, of Foo Fighters, a run for his money! See how many of the seventy Bosworth staff (and pets) you recognise!

Thank you to our talented IT Technician, Kat Henshaw for pulling this together.

And remember, ‘the greater the storm, the brighter the rainbow!’.

Stay safe and stay in touch.

Easter Break Message 2020

Dear Students and Parents/Carers,

This has been quite an incredible term. It certainly does not feel like the last day of term and this Easter break will feel very different as you look to spend time safely with your family, socially distanced.
On behalf of Bosworth Academy we’d like to thank you all for your hard work, collaboration and support during these challenging times.

We thought we’d share a hopefully uplifting video that our staff had put together before the times of social distancing.
Stay safe.

Mr. Brown & Mr. White

LiFE MAT Choir Christmas Performance

The LiFE MAT Choir performed together at the Braunstone Churches Together Carol Service on December 10th. Students from Bosworth Academy, The Winstanley School, Braunstone Frith and Kingsway Primary joined forces to perform Christmas pieces together in front of a packed audience. The LiFE MAT Choir creates opportunities to collaborate together at different times of the year.

We’re already looking forward to our next performance.

Here is an audio clip of the LiFE MAT Choir performing Winter Song that evening.

Re: Parent Consultation Evening on 28th November 2019

We apologise for the great inconvenience caused to you at our Parent Consultation Evening on 28th November 2019. All electrical power was lost at the Academy and across 1346 other properties in Desford from just before 5 pm for an hour. The electricity supply was finally restored at 5.53pm.

I have been informed by Western Power Distribution that it was caused by a fault on an 11KV underground cable which blew just outside Hillrise sub-station nearby. Re-routing of cables has now taken place and I have been assured that there will be no further power loss.

We will explain how parents who missed some or all appointments can get an update on their child’s progress very soon when we contact you via email and text.

Head of School

Remember Together

In assemblies leading up to Remembrance Sunday our theme has been ‘Remember Together’. Students have been recognising the service, sacrifice, and collaboration of the men and women of Britain, the Commonwealth and Allied nations who fought together 75 years ago in WWII in the lead up to D-day. As part of the assembly Mr. Brown shared the WWII experiences of his own Grandfather who served with the RAF and became a POW. During the ‘Last Post’ students paid their respect and united to ensure no-one is forgotten and to honour those who have sacrificed themselves to secure & protect our freedom.
