Year 8 Options Evening 1 February 2024

On Thursday 1 February 2024 we invite students from Year 8 and their parents/carers to our Options Evening event for Key Stage Four subject options.

Our students leave Bosworth Academy confident that they can be future leaders, ready to adapt to an ever-changing world and transition into job sectors that don’t even exist yet!

Our GCSE curriculum allows students to choose from a wide range of subjects that they are interested in, but most importantly provides the necessary skills to progress onto further study or training.

Whilst all of our subjects allow students to progress onto further study, some A-level subjects require the subject to have been studied at GCSE level first. Our option evening and presentation events aim to give parents and carers the information they need to support their children in choosing their GCSE options.

You can learn more by visiting our Key Stage 4 curriculum page: www.bosworthacademy.org.uk/curriculum/key-stage-4/

Additional information about the options process will be sent to you through our various school communication mediums soon. You can sign up to our presentation by visiting www.ticketsource.co.uk/bosworth-academy/t-gaeygmd or by scanning the QR code.

We look forward to seeing you at the event to begin your child’s journey into Key Stage Four.

Steps to Success Year 11 Evening

Year 11 is a crucial year for students and we are keen to support students to ‘be better than they thought they could be’. To support this, we would like to invite you to attend our ‘Steps to Success’ evening for Year 11 students and parents on Wednesday 1st November from 5pm with refreshments available. The first talk begin at 5:15 in the Main Hall and will focus on:

  • The Year 11 timeline for the year
  • How to support your child with revision
  • Well-being support and guidance for the year
  • Any questions you may have for us

Following this, subject specialists will be offering 15 minutes top tip sessions for subject specific revision in English, Maths and Science in classrooms for parents to attend. These will last for 15 minutes and will repeat three times to allow access for all attendees.

The first key point of the year for Year 11 are the trial exams which begin in the second week after half term. Students should be starting to practise revision strategies and techniques to see what works for them in preparation for these exams.

If your child has received a letter informing them that they are receiving SLT mentoring, you will have the opportunity to meet Mrs Coulson at the end of the evening. Mrs Coulson is overseeing the implementation of the programme and she will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

You can book your tickets here or by scanning the QR code.

Post 16 Open Evening 26 October 2023

Come and visit us to see what our school, our culture, and our value systems are all about. Our students leave Bosworth Academy confident that they can be future leaders, ready to adapt to an ever-changing world and transition into job sectors that don’t even exist yet!

Prepare for the future by exploring the Post 16 options available at Bosworth Academy by visiting us on 26 October 2023 and see how we inspire our students to be better than they ever thought they could be by helping them believe they can make a difference to the world in which they live in.

We are located in Desford, Leicestershire, conveniently situated between Leicester city centre and the town of Hinckley in the west of the county.

Our students continue to outperform with A Level exam results being consistently above the Leicestershire average with A*-E grades at 99.8% and almost a third of Year 13 students achieving A*/A (2021/2022).

Post 16 students are able to think critically in a dedicated study area and they develop their learning in a full range of facilities including the world-class full sized football 3G pitch, design workshops and IT suites to name just a few.

We believe that developing character and values is as important as exam results and Post 16 students “learn to be good citizens and play an active role in their school, in society and in the world” (Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ Report, June 2022).

During the open evening we will be showcasing each department with curriculum specialists bringing subjects to life whilst current Post 16 students will give valuable insights with testimonials.

The open evening is available to anyone who is considering their options for Post 16 study including those not currently in Year 11.

The evening will run from 4:30 PM to 7:00 pm. Feel free to tour the school during this time. We recommend spending at least one hour at the school to get the most out of your visit.

Our story, our vision and our values will be shared in a presentation that will illustrate student life at Post 16 Bosworth Academy.

We are now fully booked for our two presentations but the Academy will still be open for you to explore.

You can preview the great choices we have on offer by viewing our prospectus here or by exploring our website.

We look forward to welcoming you!
